What we do
We provide in vitro R&D services for the Life Sciences & Health sector. We develop custom cell and tissue models and bioassays to help you advance your basic research and drug discovery.
We believe that the next generation of tissue models will have an ever-greater potential to increase insight in the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the physiology of healthy and diseased tissue. We believe these models have the capacity to reduce the gap between hit identification and first in human trials. In that way, we want to do our part to help reduce animal testing.
Founder
Celnext Biotechnologies was founded in 2019 by Paul Oranje. Paul is specialized in cellular, immunological, and enzymatic bioassay development and pre-clinical drug discovery. He has over 20 years of experience in industry R&D.
Paul started as a junior project leader at Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (currently uniQure). As a scientist at Unilever R&D, he has contributed to identification and characterisation of functional ingredients for food and personal care products using various cell and tissue models. Paul holds an MSc in Drug Innovation from Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Services

Development of custom
in vitro cell and tissue models
We develop models that range from 2D monolayers of reporter cell lines to 3D cultures of different cell types. We have experience with models of immune cells, vascular cells, skin, gums, gut, and melanoma.
We are happy to develop any tissue model and assay with you and to your requirements. We like to keep an up-close look at the models we are developing. Therefore, we do a lot of cryosectioning and fluorescence confocal microscopy during the process.
Bioassay development
We develop biological assays ranging from drug screening assays to immune cell effector function assays. We can take care of the whole assay development trajectory, from start to validation. Our experience covers, but is not restricted to, enzyme activity assays, phagocytosis assay, natural killer assay, T cell activation assay, leukocyte transendothelial migration assay, solute transporter assay and intestinal absorption assay.
